September 12, 13, 14, 2008 - Antique & Appraisals Weekend in the Woods, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Center in the Woods
Event Details = The Center in the Woods, located along Route 88, near California PA, will host a fundraiser, Antique & Appraisal
Weekend in the Woods on September 12, 13,and 14th. Friday night will kick-off the weekend's activities with the Hidden Treasures
Reception. This will be the first opportunity for the public to meet celebrity guest, Harry Rinker - The Collector Inspector from the
HGTV (Home and Garden TV) show of the same name. Early ticket purchases are appreciated. There will be a $2.00 admission
charge on Saturday & Sunday, 12 years and under are free. With each paid admission comes one chance to win a two night stay at
the Wyndham Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ and two weekend passes to the Atlantique City: The world’s largest indoor antique show. This
trip will be for the evenings of October 17, 18, 2008. Saturday morning will be a waffle breakfast from 7:30 till 11am. Sandwiches,
side dishes, desserts and beverages will be available for sale thru-out the weekend. The antiquing begins at 9am. Dealers will be
set up outside. Inside, local appraisers will be on hand to help you discover the approximate value of your items. There is a limit of 3
items per person, per day. On both Saturday and Sunday, Harry Rinker will be conducting workshops such as “What’s Hot and
What’s Not in Antiques and Collectibles?” and “Sell, Keep, or Toss: How to Downsize a Home, Settle an Estate, and Appraise
Personal Property”. These are just two of the topics. Workshops will be $5.00 per class. One lucky person will win a one hour, in-
home appraisal by Harry Rinker, similar to what he did on the television show, The Collector Inspector. Raffle tickets are available
now. The winner will be chosen at the event Saturday afternoon at 3:00. The appraisal will take place that same evening at
approximately 7:00pm. So get ready ahead of time! The activities continue throughout Sunday, with the added feature of our Grande
Finale Auction that will be held at 2:00 pm. The Center is a nationally recognized organization that serves the senior citizens of

September 27, 2008 -Light the Night Walk for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at the Uniontown High School Stadium. The Light
The Night Walk is a nationwide evening walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by cancer. Walkers raise money to
contribute to the cause and carry illuminated balloons. Proceeds from the Walk go towards patient aid and research programs.
Anyone can participate. Children, adults, and seniors are all welcome. This is a casual walk with no fitness requirements. For more

August 29 - September 1, 2008 - 74th Annual Pilgrimage in honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Mount St. Macrina, 500 W. Main
Street, Uniontown, PA 15401. The 74th Annual Pilgrimage in Honor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help will be held at Mount St. Macrina,
Uniontown, Pa., August 29 – September 1, 2008 (Labor Day weekend). This year, the weekend’s activities and programs are
inspired by the theme of “Theotokos: Shelter of the World”. The weekend provides Pilgrims with the opportunity to participate in
religious services and an array of activities, including the beautiful Divine Liturgy, Mystery of Reconciliation (Confession), the
popular children’s procession and the inspiring candlelight procession. There will also be enriching educational opportunities for

October 11, 2008 - Fayette County Drug and Alcohol Commissions 3rd Annual Red Ribbon 5K Run/Walk at Penn State Fayette,
the Eberly Campus. This event has two purposes: to raise local awareness for the National Red Ribbon Week campaign and to
provide area residents with an enjoyable drug free activity. Special Guest at this year's event will be 2008 Miss Pennsylvania USA,
LauRen Merola.
Oct. 24 & 25, 2008 - Pumkin Bumkin Fest, 12 - 10 PM, Justus Park; downtown Oil City, PA. A celebration of the season, pumpkins, and unique or
